Activity 4: Evaluating Web Sites
Step 2: Explore and evaluate three learner sites

In this step, you will visit three learner sites for ESL students. Click on each of the links below to visit the learner sites. In your evaluation, you should think about the sites from the perspective of your students. Think about the way that the material is organized and presented. Think about the different levels of students in your classes.

Below the links you will find a link to the "Website Evaluation Form." Use this form to record information about the websites that you evaluate. To use it, click in the text boxes to add the information and then after completion, click SAVE to record the information in your Portfolio.

The first site is called Randall's Cyber Listening Lab. On this site, a learner may choose from among several levels and topics to hear a conversation or monologue on a specific subject, and then answer comprehension questions.

The second site is the ESL Independent Study Lab. This site has a variety of activities and links to other sites.

The third site is Karin's ESL Partyland. On this site, there are many activities that a student may choose to participate in. There are also exchange boards for writing messages.
