What is the organization of the ESL/CivicsLink system?

ESL/CivicsLink Workspace

All sections of the site can be reached through the Workspace page. The Workspace page is organized into four parts which are listed below.

ESL/CivicsLink Units

1) Units: a set of professional development topics for study. The Units page provides access to the units contained in ESL/CivicsLink. See the Units page for details.

ESL/CivicsLink Portfolio

2) Portfolio: provides space for teachers to accumulate learning resources, and save their own work. Teachers can save lesson plans they have created in the units, as well as project work and reflections. The portfolio also contains a resume worksheet, and a guide to developing a teaching philosophy statement.

ESL/CivicsLink Community Space

3) Community Space: a place where teachers participate in discussions, network with other teachers, access messages, and read news of interest to ESL teachers.

ESL/CivicsLink Resources

4) Resources: From the Resources page teachers can access information and links that complement the ESL/CivicsLink units and projects and other ESL-related materials.
