The topics for the units were chosen by eliciting feedback from teachers and administrators active in the field. The topics include those of general interest and those that deal specifically with citizenship and civic issues. The topics are the following: ESL/CivicsLink Orientation, Teaching a Citizenship Class, Meeting Learner Needs and Goals, Building Cross-cultural Awareness, Teaching Approaches in ESL, Using the Internet in the Classroom and Integrating Civics and English Literacy.
